    By Sheikh Suleman March 2026

Getting a Nol card refund is a straightforward process in Dubai, but the method depends on your card balance. Whether you have 10 AED or 5,000 AED, follow this 2026 RTA-verified guide to get your money back.

    Refund Methods & Limits

    Balance ≤ 100 AED

    Instant Cash Refund

You can get an instant cash refund at any Dubai Metro station Ticket Office. Simply present your card to the agent for verification.

    Fastest Method

    Balance > 100 AED

    Online/App Application

For higher balances, you must apply via the Nol Pay app or the RTA website. The funds are transferred to your bank account or used as credit.

    Takes 2-4 Days

    Service Fee

A service fee applies to all refunds: 5 AED or 2.5% of the total balance (whichever is applicable).

    Step-by-Step Cancellation

    1

Visit the Ticket Office at any Metro or Bus station.

    2

Present your physical Nol card and your Emirates ID (required for registered/personal cards).

    3

The agent will verify the balance and deduct the 5 AED/2.5% fee.

    4

You will receive the remaining cash, and the card will be permanently deactivated.

    Useful Tips

Empty Your Nol Card? If your balance is very low (e.g., 5-7 AED), it might not be worth the 5 AED fee. Use it for a final trip instead!

Expired Cards? You can still get a refund for an expired card, but you must visit an RTA Customer Happiness Center.

Registered Cards: If you lose a registered card, block it via the app immediately before applying for a refund.

    Higher Balances?

Apply for refunds above 100 AED through the official RTA website or Nol Pay app.
